Bridging LA and NB...

Concieve, Connect, Create!

The Z was host to more than 500 enthusiastic film lovers on a Sunday evening to celebrate Burton and Cray’s Bridgethink.org’s first of its kind local film festival, “Building Bridges to the Homeland”.  New Bedford has a burgening creative economy evidient in the reuse of its old mills as gallery space and live/work environments for artisits experimenting in all kinds of mediums.  Its a place thats getting supernova hot and ready to implode with a gallexy of opportunity!

Adam P. Cray and Don Burton brought together their connections and a host of greater New Bedford locals in the film industry to delight the visual senses of their guests and to begin creating a very real connection between the right and left coasts of the United States.

Animation, short film , music video, and a short feature were some of the highlights. As well as the promotional video for a television show shot locally about the life and times of “real” inner city youths in New Bedford called “Angles: behind the secret city” . Its time New Bedford embrace the new economy that is thriving and reach out to utilize its natural assets like locations and natural settings. Together with filmmaker Federal Tax financial incentives, and the wealth of natural landscape and character in the Southcoast of Massachusetts, particularly New Bedford is ripe for ‘on location’ film shoots. The next film to be shot here is tentetively being called Whaling City and is being created by Jay Burke another local looking to bring Hollywood to New Bedford. Keep an eye out for the exciting growth of another new industry quietly creeping up on the New Bedford scene.
